About Shahi Paneer
Shahi Paneer can literally be translated to “royal paneer.” FoodZone recipe is that of a rich, creamy curry made with a base of nuts, onions, yogurt and spices. Shahi means royal in Hindi. The soft paneer chunks cooked in the rich and creamy gravy ensures that this recipe is nothing less than true royalty! But this Shahi legacy also makes one believe that it is impossible to cook a true Shahi Paneer at home. However, making Shahi_Paneer in the comfort of your kitchen is much easier than you think, as long as you get the right ingredients and follow the recipe correctly. So, don’t wait…it’s time you give it a try!
What is Paneer – Paneer, also known as ponir is a fresh acid-set cheese common in the Indian subcontinent made from full-fat buffalo milk or cow milk. It is a non-aged, non-melting soft cheese made by curdling milk with a fruit- or vegetable-derived acid, such as lemon juice.

Recipe of Dish
There are some variations to make the recipe. Some Shahi_Paneer recipes use tomatoes and butter. I have opted not to use these ingredients, instead using yogurt to lighten up the dish considerably.
The Shahi gravy is full of fragrant flavors including onion, ginger, garlic, red chilli powder, saffron and cardamom. Balanced out with thick, creamy yogurt, this lightened up version of Shahi Paneer is perfect for special occasions.
